Today I want to talk about my Top 3 favorite drugstore mascaras.
The following mascaras made it into my Top 3:

Maybelline the COLOSSAL Volum’ EXPRESS – my first big Mascara Crush
Packaging
The packaging is just as eye-catching as the result. It is bright yellow with purple lettering. I’m personally not the biggest fan of this packaging as it looks a little cheap to me. On the other hand you will never have to search for it as the packaging is so striking.
Brush
The brush is huge and really bushy. The individual, tiny bristles are relatively long and placed close to each other. As with all bigger brushes the application is a little harder and you have be a lot more careful while applying; especially on the lower lashes. Due to the size of the brush and the placement of the individual bristles you are able to reach even the tiniest of lashes, without any clumps.
The product itself is rather on the dry side and the mascara wiper does a really nice job so that there is always exactly the right amount of product on the brush.

Volume
The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara is amazing for everyday wear.
As promised it creates beautiful volume after just one coat. It is buildable though and doesn’t clump even after two coats. I personally never apply more than two coats as it gets pretty heavy on the lashes. Since the brush is so big it reaches all the small lashes directly at the root, and creates the illusion of crazy volume.
It holds up the whole day without losing any of its intensity as long as it doesn’t get in contact with water. If your eyes tend to water easily, I would recommend you to try the waterproof version instead.
On the other hand I love how easily the washable version can be removed at the end of the day.
Length & Curl
I also adore the length I get with this mascara! The Colossal Mascara elongates the lashes remarkably with only one coat. My lashes almost reach my eyebrows!

The Colossal has been a loyal companion of mine for several years now. It has actually been the first mascara I have ever repurchased.

Maybelline Lash Sensational – deep black, perfect definition
Packaging
The packaging is mauve along with some black lettering. It is quite slim which makes it look quite elegant and easy to hold.
Brush
The innovative brush contains really short bristles on the inner side and longer bristles on the outer side. This makes it perfect to attach to every eye shape and lash. Due to the shorter bristles you are able to reach even the tiniest of lashes in no time.
The mascara wiper takes off quite a lot of product so that there is never too much product on the brush itself. That way you can easily build up the desired intensity on your lashes without any clumps.

Volume
No other mascara in my collection separates my lashes as nicely as this one. There are no clumps and they really have a full-fan effect as promised. The shorter bristles reach even the tiniest of lashes creating a lot of volume.
Length & Curl
The Lash Sensational elongates my lashes nicely. Also because it gives my lashes a great curl – almost as if I used a lash curler.
I love the longevity of this mascara, it has never disappointed me and always held up without any budging. Even the curl holds up without any problems which is really rare for me with washable mascaras. The only thing I don’t really enjoy as much is the fact that it makes my lashes really stiff.

L’Oréal Million Lashes So Couture – heavenly fragrance
Packaging
Out of these three mascaras this is definitely my favorite in terms of packaging as the combination of gold and purple looks really elegant and highend.
Brush
The rubber wand is quite long, but still slim. Due to the combination of really short and some longer bristles it’s really easy to reach almost every single lash.

Volume
The Volume Million Lashes is amazing at separating my lashes, which gives me incredible volume. The effect holds up the whole day without losing any of its intensity. What I especially love about this mascara in opposite to the Lash Sensational is the fact that my lashes don’t feel stiff at all. They remain feeling really natural.
Length & Curl
I absolutely love how long my lashes look with this mascara. Again – my lashes almost reach my eyebrows.
Another highlight about this mascara is definitely the heavenly scent. I have only known perfumed mascaras from the Highend/Luxury section but I have never come across a drugstore version before. The so Couture mascara can not only keep up with some highend Mascaras in terms of scent but also packaging and performance!
