Benefit POREfessionally bronzed Set – Review & Swatches of the Hoola Bronzer, Watt’s Up Highlighter & the POREfessional Primer!

When I went to Mulhouse in France recently, I had to check out their local Sephora. I immediately headed over to the Benefit Counter to see if they had any cute sets – and oh yes they did!

I was so excited to discover this POREfessionally bronzed Set because I have never seen it before. I didn’t even realize how lucky I was – it’s now sold out everywhere (at least I can’t find it anywhere online).
When I was back in France last weekend I checked if it was still available there – and it actually was. So if you can still get your hands on this set I totally recommend you do so!

I decided to still do this review even though the set is no longer available because I’m going to swatch all of the products and give you my opinion on them, so I hope it’s helpful nonetheless.

What does it include?

  • Full Size Hoola Bronzer (yes you read that right!), 8g
  • Mini Travel Size Porefessional, 3ml
  • Travel Size Watt’s Up Highlighter, 2.5g
“Get a POREfectly believable bronze with this tempting trio!
You’ll look smoother-than-smooth, sun kissed and seductively luminous.”

How much is it?

  • 31$
  • 34€
  • £ 23.50

That’s such a great deal considering you only pay a little bit more than the price of a full-size Hoola and you get to try two other Benefit products!

I actually mainly bought it to finally try the Watt’s Up highlighter since it has been on my wishlist for the longest time. But I also love the POREfessional primer and I’m actually almost out of it, so it was the perfect time to get this set. I also love the Hoola Bronzer and it’s never a bad idea to have a backup, is it? 😉

POREfessional Primer

Pores…now you see ‘em, now you don’t!
Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. The translucent formula contains a vitamin E derivative known to protect skin from free radicals
  • Oil-free
  • Complements all skintones
  • Helps makeup stay put
– benefitcosmetics

I’ve been using this primer for so many years now and in my opinion it’s still the best pore minimizing primer on the market.

I’m in love with the vintage looking packaging that Benefit keeps coming out! I love the colors of the tube and since they’re super bright you’ll always find it in your makeup bag! In this specific set, the mini tube contains 3ml which only lasts a couple of uses but gives you the perfect opportunity to see if you like it or not.
The full size POREfessional contains 0.75 oz/22ml, which lasted me over a year even though I used it a lot.

The POREfessional definitely has quite an intense floral scent to it. I personally like it a lot! It doesn’t really linger on the skin, so it won’t be too obtrusive anyway.
However if you’re really sensitive to fragrances this primer might not be the best one for you.

I have combination to dry skin, so my T-Zone can get a little oily throughout the day. This primer is great at controlling that oil. You only need the smallest amout –  yet it immediately mattifies the skin.

To show you how amazingly it works I put some oil on my arm and some POREfessional on top of it on one side.

It’s also amazing at hiding pores. Let’s have a closer look at that magic!

If you believe it or not – I did not edit the after picture, thats all the magic of the POREfessional. That’s exactly the reason why I also love to wear this primer alone on no-makeup-days! The nude shade (it’s not translucent as it says in the description) evens out the skintone and minimizes all fine lines and pores! Even tough it isn’t translucent I think it will work for a lot of skin tones because the color is not opaque at all and blends in beautifully.

However if you have super sensitive skin you might stay away from this primer, because it contains lots of silicones to make the pores appear smaller!
I personally never had any issues with this primer and it also never broke me out, although I use it almost daily.

On me this primer lasts pretty much the whole day because it’s great at controlling my oils on the T-Zone. Especially if I wear it alone, it keeps me matte the whole day!

Hoola Bronzer

Beach in a box!
Dust this award-winning bronzing powder over your chin, cheeks and forehead for a healthy, natural-looking “tan” year-round. It’s pure matte color…no sparkle or shine!
  • Sun-kissed glow
  • Great for contouring
  • Soft, natural-bristle brush included
– benefitcosmetics

In my opinion this bronzer is definitely worth the hype! Even on my super pale skin tone it never looks orange. I personally rather use it to warm up my skin, but even I could get away with contouring using this shade.

The reason I love this bronzer so much is definitely the formula. It isn’t too pigmented, which makes it extremely blendable and also buildable. That way you’ll always be able to make it look really natural. Also it’s all matte and doesn’t contain any specks of glitter, but still gives a natural sunkissed look to the skin.

I love that this bronzer comes with a brush. Not just any kind of brush that you usually get with a product. This one is actuallly amazing to sculpt out your cheekbones. I don’t usually use the brushes that come with products but this one is definitely a keeper!

Another huge plus about this product is definitely its staying power. It will look just as intense at the end of the day!

Watt’s Up

A switch-on wow!
Our soft focus highlighter turns on “watt” ya got with a delicate champagne glow that’s gorgeous. The cream-to-powder finish is a switch-on “wow” for all complexions. You’ll adore the smooth applicator.
  • Luminous sheen
  • Soft-focus look
  • Apply solo or over makeup
– benefitcosmetics

Now let’s talk about the reason I bought this set.

The full-size version of the Watt’s Up Highlighter actually comes with a sponge applicator on one side, which makes blending really easy. It’s also really handy to use since you can apply the product directly to the skin. I really like the stick form!

Even this mini-size contains a lot of product because you only need the tiniest amount!

I usally prefer powder highlighters because they are just way easier to apply.
Since this mini-version doesn’t come with an applicator I just use my fingers to apply it and that works perfectly fine! That way the products gets warmed up and is super easy to blend! I was so impressed with how well it blended on top of powder even though it’s a cream product.
I love that this highighter can be customized; if you apply one layer it looks extremely natural and like a glow from within. But you can also build it up if you prefer a more intense highlight.
I also tried applying it with a beautyblender, which works just as fine but doesn’t apply it as intense.
Since it’s a cream you could also set it with a powder highlighter for a super intense look! I actually tried that before and that also prolongs the wear of the Watt’s Up Highlighter.

It’s a gorgeous peachy-champagne color. Swatched on my skinton it actually looks pretty dark but once blended out it looks really natural and gorgeous. It also doesn’t contain any big specks of glitter, it just gives a gorgeous sheen to the skin which I love!

As I said before, it does last quite a long time on its own and even longer if you set it with a powder highlighter.

In a nutshell:

If you’re not sensitive to scents or silicones I totally recommend this set! I usually don’t end up liking every single product in a set but with this one I’m completely in love with every item! Totally recommend every single one!
