Sleek MakeUP | 6 New Matte Me Shades: Review and Swatches (including Lip swatches!)

The shade “Birthday Suit” from the original colors is probably one of my most worn liquid lipsticks, which says a lot since I’m a huuuge liquid lipstick junkie.
It stays on for hours and (at least on me) it’s definitely one of the best liquid lipsticks at the drugstore. Super affordable but yet the quality is amazing!

So of course I had to try their new additions! I ordered them directly from their website and had a really great experience! Untracked shipping to Switzerland was free (!) and only took about a week to arrive.

Shades

Let’s have a closer look at the new shades!
Sleek added great “on trend” shades; 2 gorgeous nudes, a dark mauve, 2 dark reds and a gorgeous burgundy color. I bet you’d like to see them swatched, so here we go!

I’m definitely a fan of the new shades, they are right up my alley! The new collection includes great shades for everyday wear but also darker ones for a night out. Well.. let’s be honest I would (and will) wear all of them during the day.

Packaging

I love how sleek the packaging looks. (Great pun- I know ;)) No but really, it looks amazing! The matte black cap looks really elegant and I love how the tube is clear so you can get a great idea of how the shades look (even though they tend to look a lot darker on my lips than in the tube, but we’ll come to that!)

Formula

What sleek says about their formula:

“Matte Me is a matte finish liquid lipstick that glides on in one smooth application, with no need for a second coat.
The light as air texture provides you with comfortable wear for hours, that doesn’t cake, flake or dry out, ensuring long lasting colour all day.”

I completely agree with the “light as air texture”, the formula  is extremely lightweight!
It’s somewhere between a liquidy and moussey texture. Probably more on the liquidy side which makes it really easy to apply.
It also has a doe foot applicator, which works great!Sleek doe foot applicator

Due to the texture it’s a rather drying liquid lipstick but therefore extremely long-wearing.

It also survives eating and drinking if the food isn’t too greasy – which is a huge plus for me!

The formula is lightweight to the point you almost can’t feel it on the lips which makes it super comfortable. After a few hours tough, the lips start to get pretty dry.

The pigmentation is amazing and almost all of the colors glide on really easily. You only need one swipe to get an even color application. However not all of the shades go on that perfectly.
As you can see in the lip swatches “Vino Tinto” unfortunately applied really patchy. The color is gorgeous tho and if you use a lipliner it still looks stunning. It just needs a little more work!

Lipswatches - new shades collage

Overall they all look a lot darker on my lips than they did in the tube. Especially Velvet Slipper! I expected it to be way lighter but its a really dark mauve. Also the two red shades are even a tiny bit darker than they appear in the lip swatches.
All of them are gorgeous nonetheless!
